Abstract Submission

The abstract submission deadline is February 13th 2006. Abstracts received after February 13th 2006 deadline will be placed in a post-deadline session, if accepted and the abstracts are not guaranteed to appear in the Conference Proceedings The abstracts will appear in the Conference Record - Abstracts book, which will be available at the conference.

Format

Abstracts will be accepted in PDF format only. If you are using Microsoft Word, you may download a pre-formatted MS Word file into which you can copy and paste your abstract information before converting it to PDF format. The file includes styles defined for title, authors and institutions to ensure the correct format is achieved. Please preview the following samples before you submit your abstract. To download, right-click on the appropriate link below and choose "Save target as" or "Save link as" (or similar text, depending upon your browser type).

To maintain a uniform abstract book, please submit your paper conforming to the abstract template, which is based on the flilowing guidelines:

  • Written in English on one page in electronic format.
  • The abstract must fit within the 3.5-inch by 9.25-inch (9-cm by 23.5-cm) rectangle.
  • Single-spaced, 10 point type (Basic format: Times New Roman).
  • Title is centered, 10 pt, bold, and in all uppercase letters.
  • Center list of authors and affiliations both 10 pt; authors should be in regular font style and affiliations should be italicized
  • Authors and their affiliations should be kept together (see sample abstract file)
  • Allow one blank line of space below title, author(s) and affiliation(s)
  • Allow one blank line before the abstract text.

You are responsible for and will need to convert your document to PDF. Check the final version (including content, special characters, fonts etc.) to ensure that everything is correct before accepting the final submission.

There are many ways to convert your file into a pdf. Many offices/departments have the Adobe Acrobat software available for use. If this is not available to you, there are some free online utilities which you can find and use. One is free online MS Word Doc to PDF converter is available here.

Please note that papers must be in the correct format to be considered for review.

After you have successfully uploaded your abstract, please follow the link to the electronic IEEE copyright form. This form must be completed in order for your abstract to be published in the Conference Proceedings Abstract Book.

Assessment

Papers will be selected on the basis of the content of the abstract. The Abstract should be a self-contained description of the contribution of the paper and why it would be of interest to conference attendees. Abstracts will be reviewed by the session organizers and the Technical Program Committee. Notices will be sent by e-mail confirming receipt of all abstracts. Abstracts received after January 31st 2006 deadline will be placed in a post-deadline session, if accepted.

At least one author listed on an abstract should be a registered conference participant to assure that the abstract appears in the Conference Record - Abstracts book. The presenter of an oral talk or poster must be a registered conference participant and any given presenter cannot present more than three papers (including oral talks and posters) during the conference. Where possible, oral/poster preferences and special placement requests will be honored. However, the session organizers and the Technical Program Committee retain the final authority for oral/poster placement and the order of papers in the sessions.
